Jewelry All Around

It seems that when ever I start working on something new I always get caught up and make a ton of the same thing. For example magnets, I got on a magnet craze there for awile, and next it was rings, and for some odd reason now I am on to necklaces.
I am so in love with this one, I might have a hard time parting with this one, it is one of a kind with a sterling silver chain that is 18" long.

The next necklace was made with blue pua shell and vintage findings, which currently I keep wanting to use in everything. Blue is my favorite color and the way the shell makes the color sparkle and remind me of the sea, well I just keep falling in love with it. This is also one of a kind, with matching earings. Hope you all enjoy them!

On another note, it is rainy and dark in Minnesota today, the kind of weather where you feel like a nap and a movie. Well I just can't stop myself from yawning today. Although I guess I can't complain spring is on it's way and it needs just a little bit of water. It will be sunny and warm in no time and if not well I go on vacation in 2 weeks to sunny Mexico.

I so can't wait, I love it down there plus we are going all inclusive so that means drink and eat up. I just can't wait to see the ocean and relax a little. I swear I was a mermaid in a past life, I am just so relaxed with the sound of the waves and everything else the ocean just feels like home to me. Ironic huh since I live so far away from any ocean, although Minnesota is the state of 10,000 lakes so maybe that is what makes up for it.

Estate Sale Lust

Well I went estate saling last weekend, haven't done that in awhile and I found some great stuff. Here is the jewelry that I found, not quite sure if I will take it apart or keep it for my collection. I guess I haven't mentioned that before, I actually started collecting vintage jewelry during my college thesis, tons of it. Perhaps to get away from actually working on my thesis or just a new hobbie to help relieve some fo the stress of that senior semester, anyways I kept finding broken pieces that were just to beautiful to pass by. So I bought them anyways and stashed them in their very own special jewelry box.

The summer after I graduated and was jobless I started thinking, I know how to work with silver so why not use some of those techniques to recreate new jewelry with the broken pieces and Vintage Recreations was born. Anyways back to my new stash of treasures.

I found these vintage baby shower cards a whole box most of them still sealed for only 50 cents, can't pass that up.

I also got this cute and very springy cup, alas there was only one left for 25 cents, so I had to add this to my collection too.
And last but not least I also got this bag of vintage cards for 1.50, not bad and I am started to collect old vintage cards for the great illustrations on them. The problem is when I only have one I have a really hard time using it in my crafts, although one of the ladies at the estate sale showed me how to make them into gift boxes and they are so cute and perfect for a unique touch to a gift.

This ends my show and tell from my last adventures of wonderful estate sales, until next time.

New Vintage Magnets

So lately I have been addicted to making of all things, magnets, but why not. Who doesn't want to add some sparkle to their fridge. So I thought I would show some of my newest creations. Not sure on the packaging yet so if anyone has any ideas I would sure apprecaite them.

Otherwise it has been so beautiful in MN lately. We have been in the 70's for two days in a row. I am so ready to whip out my sandals, hello spring.

I went estate saling yesterday and to tell you the truth lately I haven't had much luck finding anything good. However that wasn't the case yesterday, it wasn't my usual haul but I found some really cute stuff. I'll have to take some pictures and post them later this week. Until then stay sweet!

New Blinging Rings

So I realized I have yet to show off some of my jewelry, so I thought I would show some of my new rings that I am so excited about. They are kind of blingy but so in a good way. Well here check them out for yourself.

These are what I am calling my star rings. Now for a more classic approach we have these and they have matching bobbie pins two.

How can a girl go wrong, classic glamour with this one, as you can tell I have yet to name this one, perhaps the classic beauty. Now remember photography isn't exactly my cup of tea so please bare with me, I just wanted to get these up so you guys could see them. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, here in Minnesota we hit almost 70 degrees this weekend so it has been beautiful. I am so antsy for spring and for some flowers and growth, hopefully it is coming soon. I definately have spring fever.

Welcome

This is my very first official post to my brand spanking new blog.
First of all let me tell you that I am a thrifting junky and an extreme crafter, I like to dabble in a little of everything.

I am currently trying to start up a jewelry company, hence the Vintage Recreations title. Currently I'm working with vintage jewelry and treasures to create a newer more modern piece of jewelry, as well as keeping the great history of the old pieces. Plus it gives me an excuse to collect all sort of funky cool things.

So come along on this journey and let's see where were headed and hopefully find some pretty awesome treasures and friends along the way.
