Tiara Swap!

Oh my gosh guess what ladies, Holly over at Holly Doodle Designs is a having a tiara swap! Doesn't that sound like a blast, I personally think everyone should have one. I finally told my mother that I had to have one for my 25th birthday, what girl doesn't need a tiara. In fact it is a rhinestone encrusted one, got to give my mother some credit, she picked out a beauty. So ever since that wonderful sparkly day, I take the old girl out for a spin every birthday and when I have to clean. Which in all honesty, isn't often enough but it really does help to wear it. You guys will just have to try it out! Now if I can just get my SO to relax he always freaks when I wear it in public. Now I'll have to find a photo to share with you all!

Look What I Got!

Isn' this just the cutest thing, this is from my swap buddy Kelly. She did such a fantastic job I just love it. Plus she doesn't even know it yet but it totally matches my dining room/kitchen. I feel so lucky to recieve such a beautiful towel, thanks Kelly.
I just hope you like mine as much as I love yours. I went a bit nostalgic with mine, kind of vintage, well that is all I will say for now I am just mailing it out today so I will have to wait to tell you all about it.

Then of course little Lola had to get into the picture taking, I really think she wanted a treat since we were in the kitchen but she just got so excited I had to snap one of her.

Shh it's another secret!

Okay I am probably going to be rambling alot in this one, I am super excited about something, regarding my jewelry. I am somewhat superstitious so I don't quite want to say anything yet, but I am just bubbling with excitement so please keep your fingers crossed for me, because if this works out well, it would be super cool.

7th Anniversary

Well guys last week was my seven year anniversary with my other half. Not quite married yet, but just wait till I tell you this story. One time my other half and I got into a fight, he said that no one else celebrates anniversaries unless their married. Let's just say I think he was trying to get out of it that year.
So needless to say I was worried that he would forget this year. To be honest at this point we really aren't even sure about the date anymore, I swear it is May 23 and he swears it is May 22, either way I figure we are close enough.
Now I tend to put alot of importance on holidays and the longer we are together, well it becomes comfortable and so I am always waiting for the next big romantic gesture. They start coming slower and slower, now maybe this is normal, seven years for me is the longest relationship I have headd so, perhaps I am wrong.
So last week I called my OH(other half) and asked if he wanted to do something that night, the night of our anniversary, his response, "Why?" and then he starts laughing, "You mean to celebrate our anniversary?" Well needless to say those weren't exactly the loving words I had been waiting to hear all day. Then he goes on to tell me, " Well if your asking if I got you something, I didn't." At this point I am mad and I am hurt and really ready to cry.
So since I am still at work I decide to calmly explain to him, in an email, how that really hurts my feelings and that he is an oaf and so on, only to come home to the roses. Now I am feeling dumb, OH decided that he wanted to make sure it was a surprise, his point, "If you knew then it wouldn't have been a surprise." Not that I comletely buy that, but all ended well, we went out to a wonderful dinner and we are now on to seven years. So to all of the ladies out there your OH isn't the only odd male, I think they are programmed at birth!

More Goodness in my mailbox!

Thanks to the wonderful Tori, i recieved some more good mail.
Aren't these gorgous, I think she made them herself. I can't wait to use them although they are so pretty I think i want to keep them all to myself. Otherwise GM Girls check your mail boxes I am sending out another 6 envelopes of good mail and one might be on it's way to you.

Other than that i am so ready for this long weekend coming up I have so much cleaning and organizing to get done. Let's see if I even crack open the closet with the cleaning supplies! Until Then!

Can you tell I am having a real productive day! Just had to share this web site where you can take a quick quiz and see if you can tell if a painting is by a famous artist or an unknown artist. I scored 75% which is actually quite sad since I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Hope you enjoy!

Good Mail Feeling

I was so happily surprised to find some good mail from Annie! Just check out the card she sent isn't it beautiful. I just love it and on top of it all she sent me those cool word stickers. Thanks so much Annie! Don't ya just love good mail!

Vintage Fabric Just In!

Hi guys I have updated my store and have added a few more things I wanted to share with you. Check them out;

isn't this one a beauty it is one of my favorites with the pink stripes and the vintage yellow flowers.

What about this one, sorry the photo does not do this one justice. a friend of mine said that it is calle Swiss Dots, it's semi sheer with raised white dots, it is jsut precious!

This one just screams vintage but is still super lovely in it's own.

This white and red floral print is beautiful just look at the weave. it is also semi sheer and you can see the second layer in the photo is truly an elegant fabric.

Last but not least is this one another semi sheer fabric with beautiful blue and turquoise flowers. so if any of you are in some need for some vintage fabric head on over to my shop. Happy Monday

I guess if you can call it that, just teasing Mondays are ussually not my best days.
I hate getting back into the daily grind of work, I so just want to sleep in, although on the weekends I end up springing out of bed, bright and early, excited with all of the possibilities.

Well as you all know I opened my etsy store yesterday and will be adding other items this week. So keep your eyes open for vintage fabric, craft items, and another little secret that I am working on just for my store.

So I have been somewhat, okay very much quiet the last couple of weeks, being a very bad blogger. But something is in the works and I hopefully wil be anouncing it very soon. It's something that I am so excited about. So just wait and be patient, I am hoping to announce it very soon, and grams no I am not pregnant.

Thrifty Goodness

Alas I have finally hit the jack pot thrifting. I found a ton of cool vintage ribbon, velvet and flocked. I was so excited, and then I found some crochet thread, not sure why I had to buy all of it, this will probably last me for a good ten years.
I always start stuff, never quite finish it.

Let's see I was just having such a good time, I love it when I go on the hunt and actually find some fun stuff. Now I just have to reogranize my studio better because it is a huge disaster. So bad I am embarrassed to even show you a picture.

Happy Mother's Day

Mom Happy Mothers Day, I am so lucky to have you for a mom. You have always been there pushing and helping me in my pursuits and all of my creative endeavers.
Here is a funny story I would love to share with all of you out there. When I graduated high school my mom wanted me to check out this private college that was a fine arts college. I have always been a very creative person and my mom thought this would be a perfect place for me to go. Well when I was eighteen I wanted to be a lawyer, so I told my mother that I so did not want to be a starving artist. Since my mom couldn't find the school, it had just seemed to have vanished, she let it go.
So I went to the university of Minnesota in pursuit of eventually becoming a lawyer with a minor in pyschology. Two years into college I decided to take a break, I was enjoying my freedom and college days far more than any of my classes. Now fast forward two years, I decided to go back to college and I had found this really quaint small private college, called the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul. So I applied and got an interview, I was so nervous my mom came with me and low and behold this was the college that she had been talking about four years before. They had changed names, funny how things work out isn't it. I graduated with a bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in Communication Design. I guess when they say mother always knows best, well it seems like sometimes they do. So thank you mom for everything, you are so the best mom. Love you and Happy Mother's Day!

It's in the Mail

Just a quick note to tease the Good Mail girls, keep your eyes on your mailbox! I just sent out five packages today, maybe one of them is to you!

One of Those Days!

Ever have one of those days that just doesn't go the way it should? That is the type of day I am having, first I fall off of my steps While I am trying to let the dog out, dropping the leash. Now my little dog Lola is terrified of the blue handle, so she is slightly whining and running loose as the evil blue handle is chasing behind her. I am still lying on my back, laughing at this point, exactly where I landed after missing three steps. So as a wonderful dog owner and Grrl Genius I somehow managed to grab some of the leash as my dog is running past me, still on the ground mind you and I caught it. So the attack of the big blue handle was over, so she is fine, but still a little scared and proceeds to crawl into my lap, as I sit up wondering if I have torn my new favorite Pj's. Well no tear thank goodness I have only had these for about a week at this point. I pull up the leg of the Pj's to see I justed scuffed up my knee, which I am getting way to old to have scabs on my knees during this point of my life.

All in all after that and some anoying people calling me at work it has been overall a good day, but I think I am ready to pack it in and just hide out at home and hope that tommorow will be much more pleasant, granted I can now laugh at my klutzyness. My dog however is probably different but I reccomend to watch your stairs, sometimes they have evil intentions! Are there any other klutzes out there besides me? Until then!

It's My Lucky Day

It is so my lucky day or it was last Thursday thanks to Jennifer. I was actually home sick and I recieved my first good mail from her. So thank you Jennifer you really made my day, it was so nice to get this when I was feeling really kind of icky. How's this for scary I had this awful cold so I took some cold medicine. Ever since they put it behind the counter my favorite cold medicine apparently has been eliminated, so I thought I would try something new. Well the stuff I picked apparently didn't work with me I ended up having an allergic reaction to it. So no more of that kind, long story short it really made my day to see the bright and colorful sticker that said, "Good Mail." Just check out what she sent me to, i now have my own Good Mail sticker and some great colorful ribbon, and a beautfiul card that I think she made. So thanks again Jennifer, and to all you Good Mail Girls out there keep checking your mail box I am sending out six packages this week. Until then!

GOOD MAIL

I recently came across the idea of GOOD MAIL, courtesy of Christy . Now remember I am new to blogging so if you have heard of this before try not to roll yours eyes and think newbie. It's the idea of sending someone something, anything nice in the mail. I don't know about you, but I love getting the mail, most days I don't always like all of the bills, but every once in awhile you get something that can completely brighten your day. Just in case I was a tad spastic in trying to explain it to you myself sometimes I just get so excited!
